Comedy

When not sound designing, or producing music, I'm a stand-up comedian in my hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I also host an open-mic on Thursdays with a local comedy troupe I'm a part of called NO Show Comedy. Believe it or not, hosting a comedy open mic is a lot like sound supervising/engineering for me; you try to make people laugh and feel comfortable, you make sure all the comedians and co-hosts understand your expectations and their task for the show, and you run the sound system making sure the show runs smooth. The only difference is the theatres are replaced with bars, but just like with theatres you have to be able to understand and work with the sound system you're given.
